EGX 2017 is nearly here!
Team Ripstone are currently preparing to head down to Birmingham later this month for the biggest gaming event in the UK, and we have lots of exciting plans to share with you. We *love* EGX and have been on countdown since EGX Rezzed in London earlier this year. EGX 2017 runs from 21st – 24th September at the NEC and invites players from across the country to Birmingham for four days of gaming goodness. We’ve shared details of our plans below, so if you’re heading to the show make sure to come and say hello!
Twitch Stage – Thursday 21st September, 10.15am
Whether you’re at EGX or watching the show unfold from home, you can join us for this exclusive developer stream! We’ll be live on Twitch from the EGX stage at 10.15am on Thursday 21st to showcase Chess Ultra and the built in Twitch integration. Join us in the chat to play against us by voting for chess moves and see if you can beat us at our own game! We’ll be sharing photos and updates from behind the scenes, so make sure you’re following us on Twitter.
Special Effect Stand – Thursday 21st September, 11am – 6pm
Earlier this year Hollie and Michelle were asked to become Ambassadors for the gamers’ charity SpecialEffect. They both proudly accepted and are stepping up to their Ambassador role by joining the SpecialEffect team on their stand at EGX for the first day of the show. If you’re visiting EGX, you will find the SpecialEffect stand in the main hall and you will be able to try out numerous games using tech curated by the charity. Expect chin controlled games, eye-gaze software and even more amazing tech so make sure to drop by.
GamesIndustry.Biz Inverstment Summit – Thursday 21st September
The Investment Summit hosted by GamesIndustry.biz is a great way for indie developers to meet publishers, and we’ll be there looking for new games to sign. So far over 120 indie developers have signed up to attend the Summit and pitch their games to a variety of publishers, so we can’t wait to see what they bring to the table. If you’re a developer you can register for tickets up until 21st September.
UKIE Careers Bar – Thursday 21st September, 1.45 – 3.15pm & Friday 22nd September, 11am – 12.30pm
We’re hitting the bar! The Careers Bar.. You will be able to catch Hollie, Michelle and Rachael at the UKIE Careers Bar from 1.45 – 3.15pm on Thursday 21st September and 11am – 12.30pm on Friday 22nd September to chat about career plans. Running as part of the Career Fair, the UKIE Career Bar hosts a series of talks and informal drop-in sessions to offer careers advice about working in the games industry. The Career Bar drop-in sessions do not require pre-booking, so drop by if you are interested in hearing about Community Management from Hollie, and PR and Marketing from Michelle.
